Aircraft maintenance licences include the following categories:
Category A Category B1 Category B2 Category B3 Category C
Categories A and B1 are subdivided into subcategories:
A1 and B1.1 Aeroplanes Turbine A2 and B1.2 Aeroplanes Piston
A3 and B1.3 Helicopters Turbine A4 and B1.4 Helicopters Piston
Category B3 is applicable to piston-engine non- pressurised aeroplanes of 2000 kg MTOM and below
APPLICATION FOR ISSUE/CHANGE TO CAR
66 LICENCE
a) An application for an aircraft maintenance engineer’s licence or change to such licence shall be made on CA Form 19-01/02 with necessary documents and fees to DGCA.
b) In addition to the documents required, the applicant for additional categories or sub-categories to an aircraft maintenance engineer’s licence shall submit his/her current original aircraft maintenance engineer’s licence to the DGCA together with CA Form 19-02.
(c) Each application shall be supported by documentation to demonstrate compliance with the applicable theoretical knowledge, practical training and experience requirements at the time of application.
ELIGIBILITY:
a) The applicant must have passed 10+2 examination in Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized
board or university or its equivalent
b) An applicant for an aircraft maintenance engineer’s licence shall be at least 18 years of age
